About: JIA (Java Italian Association) no profit association, constituted of 66 founder members, is a mentor for Job and School and its initial objectives are described in the statute and in the history of the JIA.

Through JIA the members can also obtain a greater visibility for them and their possible companies, promoting their professionality teaching java courses or speeches, or writing articles or other social and cultural activities useful to the java community. It’s also possible to have discounts and facilitation about courses or else, supplied by agencies or companies through concluded agreements with JIA. For example we remember the discounts about Sun Microsystems courses and certifications granted to the JIA members from the year 2006.

We resume in short some of the concluded JIA activities in these last years:
  • Projects about learning. About that I mention the school project which we are particularly proud of. Its first edition has been realized in 2003 and the second one named “Java a scuola” is going to be realized in this year 2006. The project, carried out in collaboration with Sun Microsystems and Ministero dell’Istruzione, Università e Ricerca concerns high school students and teachers java training and Sun Microsystems supplies for free web courses which are parts of SAI (Sun Academic Initiative) project and JIA supplies the tutors supporting registered teachers.
  • Java courses and conferences where the JIA members have participated as speakers. We particularly remember The Java conferences where JIA has participated with its own Stand (for example Java Conference, Webbit or Web Generation organized from JIA and a company from Bologna, and dedicated to New Economy and Web technologies), and The Inforscuola conferences, dedicated to high school teachers, where the JIA members have partecipated as speakers
  • The production of materials and articles about java. For example the CD JIA containing materials about java, created in 1998 and in 2002 and freely distributed in the whole state.
  • Creating work team to allow the members to compare their experiences and enrich their culture.
  • Matching the needs between those who look for a job and the companies offering it.
