BIRT in Action: Adding Interactivity Features to your BIRT Reports

Abstract

our users expectations are ever increasing the more they use today’s rich Internet applications. In this session, you will learn ways to meet those expectations using the Interactivity features available for BIRT reports.

We will walk through several examples showing you how to:

  • Create data driven hyperlinks allowing your users richer navigation within the same report or out to a detail report.
  • Include a dynamic table of contents based on grouping levels of your data
  • Use visibility features to conditionally show or hide report sections based on parameters or report output type.
  • Add Interactivity to BIRT charts, including drill-through charts and tooltips.
  • Control table column sorting based on parameters
  • Include HTML with a BIRT Report and show a Google Map integrated into a BIRT report.
  • Customize report output based on user locale
  • Integrating FLASH charts
  • Easily add BIRT Interactive Viewer to web application using JavaScript API
  • Expose ad-hoc reporting capabilities to your users using BIRT Studio
