Relational Won't Cut It: Architecting Content-Centric Applications for Java

Abstract

When it comes to building solutions that are heavy on content, a relational back end typically just isn't enough. Attend this session to find out how a Java-based rich content repository such as Alfresco can be used as a core building block in your architecture to provide functionality—such as versioning, security, metadata management, search, check-in/checkout, likes/ratings, and workflow—that's fully standards-compliant and open-source. Don't worry. This isn't a sales pitch. The goal is to explore different patterns of implementation for these types of applications and get you pointed in the right direction so that you can begin to leverage this type of technology in your next project.
