Abstract

It's been a year since IBM and Oracle announced their intention to collaborate in the OpenJDK community to develop the leading open source Java environment. This talk will outline the progress of that collaboration and review the continuing challenges and opportunities ahead. IBM brings long and extensive experience with Java - hear about IBM's unique perspective on what makes Java successful and how that success can be maintained and improved within the OpenJDK community.

Its not all talk - details of IBM's contribution to OpenJDK and Java SE will be also be covered, including such topics as the technical challenges faced in sharing technology and how the solutions benefit both the OpenJDK community and Java SE.
