Impressed by the cross-platform possibilities of Java 1.0.2, Neil joined IBM's Java Technology Centre in 1997 to help the industry-wide adoption and enhancement of Java. He has worked in many areas of the core SDK, including several years as the lead developer (and team leader) for IBM's Java SE ORB implementation, providing the core technology underpinning RMI-IIOP and Java EE EJB. He is now working in OpenJDK to help the platform towards Programming Nirvana, one step at a time.
