Creating easy and secure SOAPful Web Services with the Spring-WS Grails Plugin

Abstract

The Spring-WS Grails plugin aims to make creating contract-first, document oriented web services easy by bringing together the power and flexibility of the Spring-WS framework and Grails.

This talk will present how the Spring-WS plugin makes it super-easy to develop best-practice contract-first and secure web services, avoiding all the pitfalls of fragile and unreliable techniques such as code generation or auto exposure of service classes without sacrificing your productivity.

Speaker

I am a keen open source contributor, a committer on Spring Web Services and the co-author of the upcoming "Spring in a Nutshell" book (O'Reilly Media). I particularly enjoy reading and sharing my technical ramblings on my blog.
More recently, I've been involved with the Spring-WS Grails plugin and I'm working right now on the creation of a WS-Security module based on a simple and intuitive DSL and a convention-over-configuration approach.
I work in the Telecom industry and I've been an enthusiastic adopter of Spring since 2004. My area of interests include web services and data integration.
